MLS Preview: FC Dallas - Philadelphia Union

The Union look to continue their resurgence with an Independence Day visit to Texas.

Following an awful start to the season, the revitalized Philadelphia Union look to continue their improved play when they visit FC Dallas on Friday (9 p.m. ET, MLS Live).

The Union have two wins and one draw in their last three league games, and also won back-to-back U.S. Open Cup matches over the World Cup break. The team fired manager John Hackworth on June 10 and replaced him with Jim Curtin on an interim basis.

Philadelphia (4-7-6) has shifted Maurice Edu to center back and Amobi Okugo to midfield in recent matches, and the swap seems to have paid dividends.

FC Dallas is in fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 6-7-5. The Hoops will have to do without co-leading scorer Fabian Castillo in this match due to a suspension for bumping a linesman.
