Columbus' slump continued as the Crew were beaten by an impressive goal from the Vancouver forward.The Columbus Crew were beaten for the third match in a row, and saw their winless streak extended to seven games as they lost 1-0 to the Vancouver Whitecaps at home.
The game was decided by Erik Hurtado's 37th-minute golazo. Cutting in from the right wing to the top of the penalty area, the Whitecaps man curled a fantastic shot past Steve Clark.
Columbus, despite dominating possession 60 percent to 40 percent, could only manage a pair of shots on target, compared to a half-dozen for the visitors.
The Crew, now 3-4-3, have failed to score in their last 321 minutes of league play. Vancouver goes to 4-2-4 and moves up to fourth in the Western Conference.
