Columbus Crew 2-0 Montreal Impact: Dominic Oduro inspires upset win

The Ghanaian striker had a predatory goal and an assist to drive his side forward and nab all three points.

Columbus Crew grabbed a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Impact, with Dominic Oduro on song in the first half.

Columbus got the scoring started early. In the sixth minute, Matias Sanchez picked up a lay-off from a charging Dominic Oduro on the edge of the box. He shot between two defenders and past Troy Perkins to give the hosts the lead.

Oduro grabbed his own in the 22nd minute. Stripping the ball from an indecisive Collen Warner, the Columbus forward raced through the Montreal defense to place a finish past Perkins.

The win puts Columbus into sixth in the East, just two points off Sporting Kansas City and the final playoff spot. Montreal leads the Eastern Conference by a single point, but has three games in hand over second-placed New York.
