The Rapids will look to bounce back from a loss in Seattle when they host a Galaxy team coming off yet another bye week.
Nearly two full months of the MLS campaign are in the books, but the LA Galaxy are getting ready for just their sixth game of the season.
Such is the situation for the Galaxy heading into Saturday's trip to face the Colorado Rapids (9 p.m., MLS Live). With one match rescheduled because of CONCACAF Champions League obligations and two built-in bye weeks as well, it's been a patchy beginning to 2014 for the Galaxy (2-1-2).
The Rapids, meanwhile, have gotten off to a 3-2-2 start under new coach Pablo Mastroeni but are coming off a 4-1 thrashing at the Seattle Sounders last weekend. While the Rapids were without midfielder Dillon Powers (knee) for that contest, the second-year player could be back Saturday.
For the Galaxy, the match marks yet another opportunity for Landon Donovan to break his tie with Jeff Cunningham as the league's all-time leading scorer. Since equaling the record Oct. 6, Donovan has gone seven consecutive league games without scoring.
