Two teams desperately in need of a win will square off Saturday when Houston travels to California to take on Chivas USA.
After the first two weeks of the season the Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA were both off to great starts. The Dynamo opened the year with two wins, while Chivas was sitting with four points from its first two matches.
Since then, things have headed downhill.
Houston, since beating Vancouver in mid-March, has played six times, losing four and drawing the other two and falling to seventh in the Eastern Conference. Chivas USA has matched that record in its last six, leaving both teams in need of a win.
“It’s hard when you have to give the same speech over and over again, but we’re not going to give up,” Chivas USA manager Wilmer Cabrera said on the club's official site. “The players noticed that they’re playing well, they feel like they can compete against anyone in this League, but we have to be sure that we push each other to be more clinical to be a little bit more effective."
