Cut a frustrated figure as Ajax's lone striker in the first half. More lively after the interval and sent in a superb cross from the right that should have led to the equalizer at 2-1.
Didn't have anything to do in the opening 45 minutes, but didn't convince when called upon after the break. Stayed on his line for the corner that led to the 2-1 when he should have claimed the cross.
Arbeloa occasionally struggled versus the enthusiastic Boerrigter, but always recovered well. Not much of a threat going forward, but solid overall.
The powerful center back hardly set a foot wrong in defense. Won the majority of his duels and looked comfortable on the ball.
The wing-back had an easy evening against Sana as the Swede offered next to nothing on the ball. Happy to charge forward, and almost scored in the first half.
Ramos was hardly troubled by Babel before the break as the Dutchman had little support. Called into action more often after the introduction of Hoesen, but hardly troubled.
The Brazilian midfielder was outstanding in the opening 45 minutes and came close to opening the scoring with a shot from inside the area. Excellent cross for Ronaldo later on. Dominated the midfield, before he was taken off after the break.
Had a relatively comfortable game in midfield against De Jong. Showed some nice and accurate passing and very strong positionally.
Given the nod ahead of Khedira and Modric, but did nothing to justify his inclusion. Outsmarted by Eriksen a few times, while he couldn't keep up physically, either. Deservedly hooked.
Largely anonymous in the first half until he showed his class with a superb run down the left that resulted in the opener. Then got a smile on Mourinho's face with a phenomenal finish, before providing yet another assist.
Netted twice against Ajax last year, but was unable to repeat that feat as he was largely anonymous. Replaced after the break with a minor knock.
Should have opened the scoring in the 14th minute, but was denied by Vermeer. Made amends later in the first half when he tapped home from close range, before netting two more in the second half. Simply outstanding.

Replaced Callejon at the hour-mark and looked lively. Came close to adding his name to the score sheet with a fine shot after cutting inside.
Got an assist to his name during his 12 minutes of the pitch as he set up Ronaldo with a fine pass.
Came off the bench for Kaka late in the game, but didn't see too much of the ball. More time on the bench could be on the cards for the German.
