Toronto FC continued its resurgence under Paul Mariner, extending its unbeaten run to four with a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls.
The game sprinted to a start. In the fourth minute, Brandon Barklage feathered a cross into the box. Jan Gunnar Solli exploited the lax marking to tap a side-footed finish past Milos Kocic.
Two minutes later, the Red Bulls defense mimicked the Reds' spotty marking. Danny Koevermans rose unopposed to head home Torsten Frings' corner. After scoring one goal in his first eight games, the Dutch striker now has seven in his last seven matches.
Despite the frantic start, that ended the scoring. The goalkeepers combined for one save total.
