  Had a very lively start and showed a fantastic first touch in the final third. Struggled to be as creative as he is for Manchester City from wide on the right but oozed class when slotting home the second goal. Assisted Torres' for his second goal.

  May have wasted two opportunities against Italy but he looked a different player against Ireland. An emphatic finish in the fourth minute was followed by a calculated strike in the second half. His movement was great all night.

  Should have done better on the first goal despite the pace of Torres' strike. He made a few decent saves later in the game but he punched the ball straight to Silva early in the second half who slotted home. Good save to deny Xavi in 55th minute.
