West Ham are hopeful of completing a deal to sign Robert Snodgrass from Hull City, despite rival interest from Burnley, Goal understands.

The Hammers are keen to reinforce their squad this January after a poor start to the season, and have intensified efforts to sign a midfielder after Dimitri Payet demanded to leave the club.
West Ham have resolved to sell Payet in January but have yet to receive what they deem to be an acceptable bid from Marseille, the club that the mercurial playmaker is desperate to join.
Nevertheless, Slaven Bilic’s side have targeted Snodgrass as a potential addition and are currently negotiating a deal with Hull, which could be worth up to £10 million once add-ons are included.

Snodgrass has enjoyed a productive 2016-17 season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 20 Premier League appearances.
Burnley are continuing to monitor Snodgrass’ situation but sources have indicated that the player, who joined the Tigers in 2014, would prefer a move to London. Middlesbrough have also seen a bid rejected for Snodgrass.
However, it is understood that Snodgrass will be viewed as a squad addition, rather than a key first-team signing, by the Hammers, while Burnley are keen to integrate the Scotland international into the starting XI immediately.

West Ham have already signed Jose Fonte from Southampton in January, and may subsequently allow young defender Reece Oxford to leave on loan.
The 18-year-old has made 16 appearances for the club since his debut, but the club are open to the prospect of allowing him to join Scottish giants Rangers on a short-term deal.
