Trinidad and Tobago were denied a perfectly-fine goal during their World Cup qualifier against Mexico on Wednesday.

Brazil qualify for World Cup

The hosts thought they had taken the lead through a lightning-quick attacking move, only for the referee to chalk it off for offside.

However, the replay later showed that the goalscorer was quite clearly onside when finding the back of the net and the decision ultimately proved to be very costly indeed.

Mexico managed to build on that stroke of fortune as Diego Reyes scored after 58 minutes, in what proved to be the decisive winner during the contest.
