Torres was monitored in hospital overnight but cleared to leave the next day after tests showed no signs of a more serious problem.

And the ex-Liverpool striker, who has stated that he hopes to be back on the pitch soon, was well enough to attend his side's 3-0 victory in La Liga.

Torres received a standing ovation from the crowd as two goals from Antoine Griezmann and another courtesy of Kevin Gameiro ensured a comfortable afternoon.

The Atleti academy graduate has scored five goals in 20 league games this season but is out of contract at the end of the campaign and currently without the offer of a renewal.
