Hull City manager Marco Silva believes Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs should have been sent off in the second half of his side’s 2-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal took the lead in controversial circumstances when Alexis Sanchez appeared to score with his hand after 34 minutes and the Chilean wrapped things up from the penalty spot late on after Hull’s Sam Clucas was dismissed for handballing Lucas Perez’s header on the goal-line.
But in between those two incidents, the impressive Lazar Markovic was brought down by Gibbs when he would have been clean through on goal. Referee Mark Clattenburg deemed the foul worthy of a yellow card, but Silva feels it deserved more.
"Yes. It is true. Markovic (would) go to the goal,” the Portuguese told Sky Sports when asked if it should have been a red card.
"I see positives in the game. I liked how we reacted in the second half.
“Now we have time to rest and prepare for the next game."
The Tigers, who went into the game on the back of a draw at Old Trafford and a win over Liverpool, performed well on the day and the contest was evenly matched prior to Arsenal’s opening goal. Andrew Robertson confirmed in a post-match interview that Clattenburg apologised to Hull’s players for allowing the goal to stand.
"2-0 is not the story of the game,” said Silva. “We didn't start well in the first half. We lost some balls in important zones.

“They scored one goal (with a) handball. We make mistakes, sometimes the referee make mistakes too. We don't have a good day but that is football.”
