Debutant Nounkeu sent off in Akhisarspor's draw vs.Sivasspor

Dany Nounkeu was sent off on his Akhisarspor debut as the visitors forced Sivasspor to a 1-1 draw in a Turkish Super Lig encounter on Sunday.

The Cameroon international recently transferred to the Spor Toto Akhisar Stadium outfit from Karabükspor, but, 67 minutes into his Akhisarspor career, he received his second booking, and, thus, had to go for an early shower.

Hakan Arlan gave the hosts the lead in the 53rd minute before the former Galatasaray centre-back received two yellow cards within the space of ten minutes.

The 31-year-old was first cautioned in the 57th minute before he was dismissed for another bookable offence in the 67th minute.

Sivasspor, however, got a reprieve through Olcan Adin who secured them a share of the spoil with his 73rd-minute goal.

Congo and Cote d’Ivoire strikers Thievy Bifouma and Arouna Kone were on parade for the hosts but could not consolidate on their numerical advantage. The former was taken off in the 87th minute while his compatriot and Delvin N'Dinga saw full action.

Algeria’s defensive stalwart Carl Medjani, on parade for the entire duration of the tie, was also booked in a game that saw seven yellow cards and a red card brandished. Ghana defender John Boye, yet to make a league appearance for the Sivas Stadium outfit this season, made the substitutes’ bench for the second time.

Nounkeu will be expected to make a strong return for his 12th-placed side after serving his suspension.
