Mike Mulvey's league leaders are decent value to defeat the reigning premiers when the top two teams in the competition clash this weekendBrisbane Roar's seemingly unstoppable charge to the A-League premiership could hit a speed hump on Friday away against second-placed Western Sydney Wanderers, who have won four of the past five matches against their guests.
Brisbane notched their first ever win against the Wanderers 3-1 in their only meeting so far this season at Suncorp Stadium in November, but their two previous trips to Parramatta Stadium in 2012-13 saw them come away empty handed.
'Wanderland' has become something of a fortress for the team in red and black over the past 12 months, where the club has lost just two of their past 15 matches, including a 3-1 win over Perth Glory on Australia Day.
However, there is no better away team in the competition than Brisbane, who have taken 19 from a possible 27 points on the road, which makes the $2.87 about a Roar at bet365 win look like a good bet.
The punters' doubts over the Roar's current form are based on the fact that they have found themselves a goal down in each of their two matches, as well as Matt McKay's continuing absence with an ankle injury.
And having ridden their luck in those wins over Wellington and the Mariners, the sense is that that the Roar could come unstuck against a Wanderers side looking to keep the race for the premiership alive.
Worth noting that the $3.20 on offer about the draw could be the unders of the weekend given Brisbane have only one draw in their past 22 games. Coach Mike Mulvey has said his team don't like playing for draws.
Shinji Ono likes scoring against the Roar, having done twice in matches between the two at this ground. The $3.60 on him to score at any time looks good value.
