Adelaide United are warm favourites to end their run of outs against Perth Glory when Week 16 of the A-League gets underway on Friday.

The Reds have not beaten the Glory in any of their past five meetings, even though the three most recent clashes between the teams have all been at Hindmarsh Stadium - again the venue for Friday's match.

You have to go all the way back to November 2010 to find Adelaide's last success over the Glory in the A-League, but that drought is being tipped to end on Friday.

The second-placed Reds are the even money favourites at $2 at TAB Sportsbet but better odds elsewhere of $2.12 at Eskander's Betstar, $2.15 at Centrebet and $2.22 at Betfair to beat the Glory, who are shortest at $3.15 with Betstar and paying $3.45 at both Betfair and TAB Sportsbet.

Their earlier meeting at Hindmarsh this season ended in a 1-1 draw, which has come up the early favourite in correct-score betting markets at Betfair at $6.80, while the draw result in this game is also priced at $3.45 at both Betfair and TAB Sportsbet.

And with the Reds coming off a disappointing 0-0 draw away to Newcastle last Friday and having won just one of their past four matches overall, Perth are more than capable of getting another draw in this game - particularly with playmaker Marcelo Carrusca out injured for the Reds.

However, fifth-placed Glory have also been struggling and are winless in their past three matches.

That makes it difficult to recommend either team and, with both sides short on goals recently, backing a 0-0 draw may just be the way to go in this one at the attractive odds of $10 with Betfair.

The Glory might be in fifth spot but they are just five points above last-placed Sydney FC, with 12 rounds remaining.

They are falling behind the pacesetters and trail leaders Central Coast by 14 points, Adelaide by 10, third-placed Melbourne Victory by seven and fourth-placed Western Sydney by four.

With those top four teams now looking certainties to make the top six, the race is on to fill the last two spots in the finals, with the remaining six teams all in contention.

The Glory are favourites at $1.51 to finish in the top six among those remaining contenders at Betfair but look poor value compared to some of their rivals, particularly Brisbane at $1.80, Wellington at $2.24 and Melbourne Heart - in sixth spot - at $2.40.
