Betting round-up: Fulham or Newcastle?

Neither side are in good form as the English Premier League round comes to a conclusion, but there is far better value for the away side Indonesia   By PAUL GOUGH

There is plenty of value for punters in Tuesday's EPL fixture - if they can successfully decide just who to back between two out-of-form sides in Fulham at home against Newcastle.

Two teams that began the season tipped as European contenders are struggling as the season nears the half-way, mark with Fulham in 13th place and Newcastle one spot below.

The home side have failed to win any of their past seven matches, while the Magpies' 3-0 home win over struggling Wigan in the Premier League last weekend ended a run of seven matches without a win in all competitions.

Newcastle have recorded just one win in their past six meetings against Fulham and have not won at Craven Cottage since December 2007, so as a result the hosts head into the match as key at $2.02 at Betfair, with Newcastle at $4.20 and the draw paying $3.75.

The two teams are both lesser value elsewhere, but it is still Fulham as favourites paying $2 at and $1.90 with Centrebet.

Newcastle are paying $3.75 and $3.90 respectively while the draw is $3.50 at and $3.55 at Centrebet.

However, despite the recent history pointing to a Fulham win, the Cottagers look a risk at barely better than even-money odds - particularly given their current form.

But plenty of punters disagree, with Fulham having attracted nearly 75 percent of money at Betfair as punters snap up the better-than-even money odds against a side that has not won away from home all season.

Newcastle to win v Fulham at $4.20 at Betfair
Newcastle to win 1-0 v Fulham at $15.50 at Betfair

So with both sides out of form, it is tempting to have a crack at the $4.20 on offer for a Newcastle win at Betfair as opposed to taking around the $2 markfor the equally out-of-form home side.

A 1-0 win on the road for Newcastle is paying the huge odds of $15.50 at Betfair, which punters should snap up quickly given that price is bound to shorten prior to kick-off at 7am Tuesday, Australian time.

However this fixture produced a huge 5-2 win for Fulham last season and a similar win for the home side this season is paying the massive odds of $126 at
