The Brazilian defender has voiced his delight with BVB's Champions League success and feels they deserve their place at WembleyFelipe Santana has hailed Borussia Dortmund's fighting spirit in the wake of their 4-3 aggregate win over Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The Bundesliga giants were beaten 2-0 in Tuesday's return at the Santiago Bernabeu after previously winning the first leg 4-1, but Santana was unperturbed by the defeat as he stressed that making it to Wembley was all that mattered.
" In the end we got the result we needed in order to get to the final. We have fought a lot in order to reach Wembley," Santana told Uefa.com.
"Even after conceding twice tonight we were only thinking of the final. Madrid are a magnificent team and it's very hard to come here and not concede. The important thing was the result, though.
"We are enjoying a moment now that I'm not sure we can repeat. Tonight we played well and stood up to Madrid's pressure.
"There was a lot of joy in our dressing room. We wanted to get to the showpiece and we did it."
Dortmund will take on either Bayern Munich or Barcelona in the final at Wembley on May 25.
