Tottenham will go to Chelsea to win, says Dawson

The clash at Stamford Bridge could play a large part in deciding the final Champions League places, and the defender says his side are full of confidence after beating Southampton
Tottenham defender Michael Dawson says his side will be going to Stamford Bridge to beat Chelsea in their clash on Wednesday evening.

The match could play a large part in deciding who is playing Champions League football next season, with both clubs and London rivals Arsenal all vying for the two remaining spots in the top four.

Dawson insists his team will not be sitting back and hoping for a draw, and says they are full of confidence after Gareth Bale's late winner against Southampton last time out.

"Both teams will want to win, it's a game we've been looking forward to and we'll certainly be going there to win," Dawson told the club's official website.

"We'll have to earn it. We'll go there full of confidence and hopefully get the three points.

"We knew it was going to be tough [against Southampton] and we needed to be patient and calm. Southampton are a top team, they kept the ball, passed it and we struggled to deal with it at times.

"We worked our socks off from back to front, it was hard work but we got there in the end. Gareth produced that bit of magic again.

"[At] this time of the season it's about sticking together as a group and winning matches. Sometimes it doesn't matter how you do it at this time of the season.

"Of course, we want to play well every week, but it doesn't always happen."

Both Spurs and Chelsea have a game in hand on Arsenal in fourth, with Spurs sitting below the Gunners by two points, while the Blues are ahead by one in third.
