Wayne Rooney has been left on the bench as Manchester United prepare to take on Tottenham at a snowy White Hart Lane.Rooney returned to the United starting line-up in Wednesday's FA Cup third round replay against West Ham, but Sir Alex Ferguson has opted to pair Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck up front instead.
In defence, Nemanja Vidic partners Rio Ferdinand once again, while Phil Jones is expected to play in a midfield diamond.
For Tottenham, Clint Dempsey replaces Emmanuel Adebayor, who is away on Afcon duty with Togo, while Scott Parker comes in for the injured Sandro.
