The club has shelved plans to have the party as the team sit bottom of the Premier League, still without a win and onto their second manager in Harry Redknapp.
The 34-year-old says the players felt they should not be seen to be celebrating whilst the club are struggling as much as they are in the Premier League.

"We haven't really talked about a Christmas party," Hill told he Chronicle.
"The players never set out a date because we don't really think we should be out having a day getting drunk and celebrating Christmas because of the situation we're in."
"There wasn't an actual meeting to say we're not having one, there was just a general feeling that we don't need one and shouldn't have one."
