Sir Alex Ferguson says Kagawa is still 'a few weeks away' from Manchester United return
Having not played since October where he picked up a knee injury against Braga, the Red Devils boss reveals he is not expecting his Japanese star back for a while
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Shinji Kagawa is still weeks away from his Manchester United return. The Japan international, who recently picked up an international player-of-the-year award, was originally set for four weeks out of action but he has not recovered as fast as anticipated.
When quizzed about Kagawa's return by reporters, Sir Alex said: "He's a few weeks away."
It is not known exactly what date the Red Devils are targeting for Kagawa’s return and the Manchester derby, which takes place at the Etihad Stadium on December 9 looks to be too soon for the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker.
Their next game after the Manchester derby, at home to Sunderland, will be a more realistic idea of when Kagawa will make his return from injury.
