Villas-Boas promises Tottenham improvement for Manchester City & Arsenal clashes
With Spurs lacking cutting edge against the Latics on Saturday the boss challenged his squad to bounce back strongly, but added he won't dip into the transfer market in January
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has demanded his players rediscover their form for the important upcoming Premier League fixtures after their poor performance against Wigan.Spurs were beaten 1-0 by Roberto Martinez's men on Saturday, Ben Watson netting the only goal of the game at White Hart Lane as the hosts struggled for inspiration.
The Portuguese now needs his team to bounce-back strongly with two tough away tests on the horizon, firstly travelling to reigning champions Manchester City and then to their north London rivals.
And the 35-year-old has indeed stressed that he will not allow his side to perform so poorly in the two clashes, insisting the games are so important due to the "shared objectives" of the sides involved.

"What we need to do is recover from this defeat. Emotionally for us it is very important for us to bounce back and we have the type of games that can have that impact.
"They are games against the top teams at their ground. These are teams with the same objectives as us. We will bounce back."
Despite fielding the likes of Gareth Bale, Jermain Defoe and Clint Dempsey against the Latics, Spurs failed to create enough openings in the game.
However Villas-Boas shrugged off suggestions of buying in January, with players such as Shakhtar Donetsk's Willian linked, and instead indicated the impact of Moussa Dembele, Scott Parker and Younes Kaboul returning from the sidelines will give them a lift.
"No, what we need in January is to recover the players we have injured," the former Porto boss added.
"We have a lot of players injured at the moment. If everyone recovers then we have a great boost in terms of what we have available."
