thumbnail Hello,

Victory's on-loan forward made the difference against the champions, while Jets fullback Goodwin was unlucky to be on the losing side after his star turn was ruined by Hicks

Michael Theo gets the gloves in Round 18's Team of the Week after he helped Brisbane Roar emerge from their visit to Parramatta Stadium with a point and their commanding lead at the top of the table intact.

Team-mate Matt Smith marshals the backline after leading a dogged Brisbane resistance in that 1-1 draw with Western Sydney. He is partnered at centre-back by Patrick Kisnorbo, who did well for Melbourne Heart in difficult conditions in Albury on Sunday and headed home the opening goal in their 2-1 win over Perth Glory.

Craig Goodwin has been deployed further forward by the Newcastle Jets this season, but he gets the nod at left-back courtesy of a dynamic brace in a 3-2 defeat at home to Wellington Phoenix. Scott Galloway will patrol our right flank following an impressive showing for Melbourne Victory in their 3-1 win at Central Coast.

Jason Hicks stole the show for the Phoenix at Hunter Stadium with a brilliant solo winner and gets the nod in midfield alongside influential team-mate Carlos Hernandez, who ran the show again on Sunday. They are joined by Adelaide playmaker Marcelo Carrusca, one of the architects of Sydney FC's downfall in a 3-0 win for the Reds at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Up front Carrusca's team-mate Fabio Ferreira gets the nod on the right flank after terrorising Sydney's defence, joined by Victory duo Tom Rogic, who shone against his former team in Gosford, and James Troisi, a two-goal hero for the visitors at Bluetongue Stadium.
