STATE PICKS

Western Australia's final round of the regular season saw Bayswater City clinch the minor premiership with their 4-2 win, with Floreat leapfrogging Sorrento into second spot. Former Socceroo Robbie Dunn could not save the Western Knights from relegation, as they suffered a 4-2 thrashing at the hands of ECU.

In South Australia's Super League, MetroStars continued their good run of form and booked a place in this seasons's grand final by defeating Croydon 1-0, with Steven Grelli's long range strike the difference between the two. Croydon's double chance sees them face Adelaide City this weekend, after the former NSL side defeated the Blue Eagles by the same margin.

In Queensland's State League, Brisbane Strikers were assured of the minor premiership after their 1-1 draw with Bundaberg.  Meanwhile, in the Brisbane Premier League, Rochdale Rovers will meet Redlands United in this weekend's preliminary final after defeating Peninsula Power 3-2.

Canberra FC's long reign in the nation's capital came to an end against Belconnen, who won 2-1. The minor premiers clinched a spot in this weekend's grand final against Cooma, but not without some controversy, after Canberra FC winger Danai Gapare was sent off during the half-time interval, changing the complexion of the match.

In Tasmania, Andy Brennan's double gave South Hobart the Tasmanian State title in what was a measured performance, defeating Northern Rangers 2-1 despite having striker Dean Lantouris sent off on the hour.

Broadmeadow Magic got revenge over Hamilton Olympic after their qualifying final loss, winning this season's Northern NSW grand final in convincing fashion, running out 4-1 victors.
