PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEKEND

APIA Leichhardt

It was a much-needed three points for APIA, recording a vital 2-1 win against fellow strugglers Parramatta FC at Melita Stadium. With both teams sitting in the bottom four, the result could be crucial in the long run for APIA, who had Michael Hawrysiuk to thank for his deflected last-minute volley. A meeting with Manly United follows for the Tigers, and the opportunity to move further clear of the bottom.

AFTERTHOUGHTS

"Sydney United and Marconi both failed again in round four, and Bonnyrigg White Eagles took full advantage at the top. The White Eagles meet the lowly Rockdale City Suns in the next round, with the buffer in first spot sure to become even greater if the others are unable to find consistency in their performances."
- Dejan

"It was a case of a number of sides finally making some breakthroughs in Round 4. APIA Leichhardt finally recorded their first win, a 2-1 triumph over fellow strugglers Parramatta, who themselves scored their first goal of the 2012 NSWPL season. Rockdale City Suns meanwhile, like APIA, moved off zero points after mustering a 1-1 draw against Sutherland Sharks."
- David

TWEETS OF THE WEEK (#NSWPL)

@jacobtimpano: Great 2-1 win for us yesterday @scwolves away to Sydney United. Good start to the season, second on table but longgg way to go! #nswpl

@matthewbrala: Sasho Petrovski is possibly the most unfit player I have ever seen. #NSWPL
