Fabregas: Ireland game will not be easy

The Barcelona midfielder has stressed that the Boys in Green will be no pushovers in Thursday's clash, and added they respect all their opponents

Cesc Fabregas has insisted that Spain will not underestimate Republic of Ireland in their second Group C game.

The reigning champions had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Italy in their opening match, while Ireland were beaten 3-1 by Croatia, and the Barcelona midfielder is determined to get a positive result in Thursday's meeting.

"Will it be easy against Giovanni Trapattoni's team? No, no, no. If we think like that that, we would already be losing 1-0. We always say that kind of thing to motivate ourselves," Fabregas was quoted as saying by Uefa.com.

"We are a humble team, we respect other sides and treat them the way we should. I think that helps us get the result we deserve.

"We will put everything we have into the game. We have to play our own style of football, to never give up, and keep attacking."

Thursday's encounter in Gdansk kicks off at 20:45CET.
