Torres keen to add Euro 2012 triumph to Champions League and FA Cup winners' medals
The former Liverpool hitman acknowledges that the 2008 winners are under a different kind of pressure this time around, but they remain tournament favourites ahead of Germany
Chelsea and Spain striker Fernando Torres wants to round off winning the Champions League and FA Cup by winning Euro 2012.
Vicente del Bosque’s side are the current holders, and the favourites again this time around, with the 28-year-old’s goal having seen off Germany in the Euro 2008 final.
And with all-time top goalscorer David Villa ruled out through injury, the pressure is on the striker to lead the line in Poland and Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters, Torres said: “I had a great end of season in which I collected two titles and I hope to win the Euro and put the cherry on the cake.
“Currently we are considered favourites for the Euro 2012 and we have a different kind of pressure. I have new hopes after a tough year for me.”
The striker has an impressive record at international level, with a record of 28 in 92 appearances, but he has struggled to adapt to life at Chelsea since his switch in January 2011.
Despite this, Torres’ goal against Barcelona in April helped the Blues towards the Champions League final, and the forward ended the season on a high with two winning medals to his name.
“It's not easy to be here, but what we want now is to maintain Del Bosque's trust in us, play as much as possible and make a big contribution to the team,” he added.
“That´s what I'm here for. We have a collective target, not an individual one.”
Spain kick off against Italy on Sunday in Group C, alongside the Republic of Ireland and Croatia.
