Two Guinean players abscond in France after unfruitful trials

Two players from Guinean division one side ASK made off from their hotel rooms in France after they failed trials with Ligue 1 club Auxerre

Fifa-accredited agent Abdoul Karim Bangoura from Guinea announced on Thursday that he was in search of two players from Guinean club ASK, whom he took to France for trials at Ligue 1 side Auxerre.

Bangoura said the strikers Mohamed Soumah and Sekou Camara, both aged 18, disappeared from their hotel rooms in Paris on May 7 at the end of the test which ended unsuccessfully and that nobody had heard from them since then.

Police reports in France has also confirmed the disappearance of the young men and investigations have been opened.

“This is a very embarrassing situation to me and to Guinean football,” Bangoura told Guinee Foot. “How do I explain this to the authorities here and to the French embassy in Conakry?"

“The arrangement was to get them back to their home club as soon as possible and organise another trial later on, but they seemingly chose to escape into Europe, how about their career? I can’t understand.”

Nine players from a Senegalese club deflected in Le Havre, France in June 2011 on their way from a youth tournament.
