The Argentinian says to line-up with his new team-mates will be a dream come trueSantos signing Patricio Rodriguez has expressed his delight at the prospect of lining up alongside Neymar and Ganso, revealing to Lance! that the chance to play with the talented young duo is a dream come true.
“It will be very nice to be able to work beside him,” Rodriguez said of Neymar. “I know I'll mature even more [as a player]. I really admire him. He is surely is among the five best players in the world.”
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder joined the club from Independiente in Argentina last month, and made the dream start to life in Brazilian football by netting a debut goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Atletico Goianiense.
With his new team-mates set to return from an Olympic campaign that ultimately ended with a silver medal in London, Patito spoke of his excitement at the return of the club's star players from international duty and admitted he jumped at the chance of a move to the Peixe.
“Santos Football Club is a team for whom I have great admiration,” he said. “[To play] alongside Neymar and Ganso was a dream for me. I did not think twice when I accepted [the club’s proposal].”
Santos continue their Brasileirao campaign with a trip to Figueirense on Friday night.
