Former Singapore international Precious Emuejeraye has been sacked from Indonesian club Persiba Balikpapan after their 2-2 draw against Persiram Raja Ampat.
The centre-back was blamed for his lack of discipline at the back which allowed their opponents to create goal-scoring opportunities, evident during their previous match when Persisam striker James Koko Lomel managed to score his team's second goal of the match.
"Precious often leaves his area and soon after the opponent scores a goal, that mistake happens too often and the coach needs to be firm towards any players that is not disciplined," said club chairman Syahril HM Taher to the media after their match against Persiram.
Precious' error in the 46th minutes of the match left coach Herry Kiswanto with little choice but to replace the former Persija Jakarta player with Ahmad Maulana Putra.
"I had to take out Precious because of his poor showing, I feel Maulana is able to give a positive contribution and consistent performance in future matches," said Kiswanto
Before Precious' departure to Indonesia at the end of 2009, the former Lions played for Woodlands Wellington, Gombak United and Young Lions. He made his S.League debut in 2002 with now-defunct club, Jurong FC under the tutelage of current LionsXII coach V.Sundramoorthy.
Nigeria-born Precious was back in Singapore towards the end of the last S.league campaign, searching for a club in the hope of donning the national jersey once again.
It was during his stint with the Young Lions in 2005 that he was awarded Singapore citizenship, and he subsequently made his international debut against Denmark in 2006 under coach Radojko Avramovic.
Precious soon found himself a regular in the national team and featured in every match during Singapore's triumph in the 2007 ASEAN Football Championship, now known as the AFF Suzuki Cup.
But after a disappointing Suzuki Cup campaign in 2010, where the Lions failed to progress beyond the group stages, Precious found himself sidelined from the national set-up as the national team was dissolved.
The defender then decided to move to Indonesia, moving first to Sriwijaya FC, then Persija Jakarta.
