Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal believes the visit of English Premier League giants Chelsea to Malaysia is crucial for the country's football developmentFootball Association of Malaysia (FAM) vice-president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal believes that the visit of Chelsea in July will be extremely essential and will bring lots of positivity which can help Malaysian football.
Subahan was in a jovial mood on Wednesday, expressing his delight in having the reigning European Champions visit Kuala Lumpur for the third time in six years.
Chelsea, still competing in the Europa League and are third in the English Premier League, will play Malaysia XI on July 21 at the Shah Alam stadium.
Speaking at the press conference earlier, Subhan said: "The FAM has always been supportive of developments in the game at home and Chelsea's tour of Malaysia in July is regarded as an essential and positive part of football development.
"We want to win against Chelsea this time. When they came here in 2008, Malaysia lost 2-0 and in 2011 we only lost 1-0 with Didier Drogba scoring a free kick which fans will never forget.
"The score lines show that we have improved and we aim to win this round for all Malaysians," he added.
