The Spanish hit-man touched down in Johor Bahru on Sunday and has already started light training with his new team
Johor's big-name signing Daniel Guiza has arrived in Johor Bahru to join his new team-mates for pre-season training.
Guiza, who was initially scheduled to come after Christmas, decided to check in early to acclimatise himself with the surroundings and training methods.
The former European champion with Spain started light training yesterday evening by participating in a futsal session with the other Johor players.
He arrived on Sunday in time to watch Johor play Singapore's Young Lions in a friendly match at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Johor head coach Fandi Ahmad said that he was glad to see Guiza's determination to get going.
"I'm made up with his decision to come early and start training straight away," he told Berita Harian.
Johor is expected to announce its final squad for the new season by the players' registration deadline this Thursday.
