The Malaysian Super League side have confirmed their interest in signing the former Aston Villa striker, who is available on a free transfer
Norwegian striker John Carew has emerged as a surprise possible signing for Azraai Khor's Perak.
"We are still in the negotiation stages with his agent regarding the terms and conditions of his contract," the Malaysian club's manager Khairul Azwan told Sinar Harian.
According to Goal.com sources close to Perak FA, they are currently in the final stages of negotiations with Carew's agent about a possible move.
The 33-year-old striker has scored a career total of 155 goals from 444 games during an illustrious career which include playing spells with the likes of Aston Villa, Valencia and AS Roma. Carew scored twice in 19 appearances for West Ham United last English Premier League season.
If the deal goes through, Carew will join a growing list of European stars who will be plying their trade in the Malaysia Super League [MSL] next season, namely Dani Guiza and Simone Del Nero [Johor] and George Boateng [T-Team].
