Goal.com's EPL Fantasy competition moves into 2013 and brings with it an array of different possibilities.
What I speak of is the opportunity for coaches to reinvigorate their side with January signings.
It means anyone languishing toward the bottom of his or her private league standings or sat in mid-table mediocrity now has the chance to place the leaders under pressure.
With some big-name players rumoured to be on the way to the Premier League, keep a close eye on the European winter market and take a punt on who you fancy to be an instant hit.
On a side note, this weekend pits the No.1 Fantasy scorer Robin Van Persie, against the third-best performer in Luis Suarez.
Manchester United and Liverpool meetings are habitually occasions to savior, with the two best strikers in the league subplot making it all the more enthralling.
Luis Suarez – Liverpool (36 points)
The enigmatic star has been at been in stunning form of late. Scoring a brace and an assist against Sunderland ensured he began 2013 in style –£14,280,000.
Robin Van Persie – Manchester United (32 points)
2012 was a remarkable year for the Dutchman and Fantasy's top scorer remains the biggest weapon in the competition – £16,100,000.
Mark Noble – West Ham United (26 points)
The Hammers' midfield lynchpin has been a consistent performer upon his return to the Premier League – £7,030,000.
Shaun Maloney – Wigan Athletic (4 points)
The Latics attacking midfielder was billed as a Fantasy bargain, but has failed to vindicate that tag and is suffering from a £3,320,000 price decline – £5,310,000.
Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal (4 points)
Had a 2012 to forget. The Welshman is struggling to deliver on his prodigious talent and any coaches who have him in their team need to seriously reconsider replacing him – £5,930,000.
Fabricio Coloccini – Newcastle United (2 points)
The Magpies defensive general is feeling the strain of the side's battles and it is severely affecting his Fantasy scores – £3,000,000.
