Week 4 of Goal.com's EPL Fantasy saw some of the competition's better performers struggle to emulate their fine early season form.
It was a week for some of top-flight football’s underrated players to announce themselves to the fray.
There may be a hint of 'one-week heroes', but some players in particular need serious consideration as potential buys for Fantasy managers.
Dimitar Berbatov [30 points] scored a brace in his Fulham home debut and looks certain to be given a pivotal role up front – at £8,790,000, he could be worth the gamble.
Likewise for Newcastle forward Demba Ba, who showed his best form against Everton and, at £8,720,000, represents good value.
Two heavyweight clashes this weekend could drastically affect the scoring ability of your side.
Liverpool host Manchester United, while a trip to face league champions Manchester City is on the agenda for Arsenal.
Make note of any players who represent these sides and tinker with your team appropriately in order to maximize scoring power.
Alexander Buttner – Manchester United (32 points)
A superb goalscoring debut from the Dutch left-back helped propel him top the points table in Week 4 of Fantasy competition – £8,320,000.
Gervinho – Arsenal (26 points)
The Ivorian scored two goals in a new central striking role for the Gunners and could become a managerial steal for a relatively economical price – £7,690,000.
Jermaine Defoe – Tottenham (24 points)
An inspired performance from the England international saw him net a brace against Reading. Is a real coup for any manager that selected him from the outset – £9,510,000.
Daniel Agger – Liverpool (6 points)
The Liverpool defender touted for a big-money transfer to Barcelona before the season is feeling the wrath of a terrible start to the campaign. His Fantasy league price-tag decline of £1,580,00 is proof of the Reds woeful efforts - £5,740,000.
Papiss Cisse – Newcastle United (6 points)
After the match-winning heroics of last season, the normally prolific and expensive Magpie weapon is experiencing somewhere of a form slump – £9,130,000.
David Silva – Manchester City (4 points)
Probably in the worst form of his City career, having failed to score or provide a solitary assist. Owned by close to 20% of Fantasy coaches, the 26-year-old playmaker is causing widespread grief – £7,030,000.
