A-League Team of the Week: Marinkovic free-kick, Carrusca 'panenka' steal the show

The Serbian sparked the Glory's late comeback with a stunning set-piece, while the Argentine channelled a famous Czech effort from the spot to win it in New Zealand
We've got Eugene Galekovic between the sticks this week after his performance at the Cake Tin helped earn a lacklustre Adelaide United all three points in a 1-0 win over Wellington Phoenix. The Reds' skipper was called into action to deny Stein Huysegems what appeared a certain goal when the Belgian striker advanced on the goalkeeper late in the first half on Sunday.

Osama Malik also impressed at the back for the Reds in that game, and we've chosen him in a three-man defence alongside Central Coast's Zach Anderson, an assured presence for the Mariners as they defeated Western Sydney 2-1 at home. Fullback Adama Traore grabs the other defensive spot courtesy of his tireless efforts on his return from injury in Melbourne Victory's 1-1 draw with Sydney FC.

Nebojsa Marinkovic earns a berth in midfield for his stunning free-kick to equalise in Perth Glory's dramatic 2-1 win at home to the Newcastle Jets. In the middle is Victory's gifted workaholic Mark Milligan, joined by Western Sydney technician Aaron Mooy. The ever versatile Matt McKay is out wide after another good showing in the 10-man Roar's 2-1 win at home to Melbourne Heart.

We're channelling the Spain of Vicente del Bosque (or the Scotland of Craig Levein) with this strikerless formation. Instead of a traditional centre-forward, we've gone for three playmakers in Victory's Guilherme Finkler, Adelaide's Marcelo Carrusca and Thomas Broich of Brisbane Roar.

Finkler did all he could to force or create a winner in the drawn 'Big Blue', while Carrusca scored the winning penalty with a cheeky 'Panenka' in Wellington. Broich meanwhile has prove himself to be extraordinarily adept at holding up the ball when his Roar side find themselves a man down, as they have done frequently this season thanks to red card magnet Besart Berisha.
