The 35 players vying for a spot in the A-League All Stars squad to take on Manchester United in July have been revealed.

More than 30,000 votes were cast by fans in the first stage of selection, with an expert panel - accounting for 20 percent of the overall vote - to now consider the final squad from the 35 names.

Coach Ange Postecoglou retains a final 10 percent share of the voting and can also select three players in the final 18-man squad to take on the English Premier League champions on July 20.

Released by Football Federation Australia on Tuesday, marquee men Shinji Ono [midfielder, Western Sydney Wanderers] and Alessandro Del Piero [striker, Sydney FC] led their respective positions in the voting.

Central Coast's Mat Ryan finished top of the goalkeeping category, with Wanderers' stopper Nikolai Topor-Stanley doing the same for the defenders.

Other notables to win a place in the squad include Newcastle Jets marquee man Emile Heskey, Melbourne Victory favourite Archie Thompson and - despite playing just three matches in his short stint for Sydney FC - Australia captain Lucas Neill.
