New Melbourne Victory signing Jesse Makarounas has taken a swipe at his former club Perth Glory, claiming the Western Australian club deprives their young talent of oppurtunities.

The 18-year-old Australia youth international was unveiled in front of the media on Monday, along with other new signings Francesco Stella and Scott Galloway.

"I had a frustrating 18 months at Glory and didn't really get the game time I think I deserved," Makarounas said.

"I think [Ferguson] said he wanted to keep me but I think I had to make the decision what I thought was best for my career. After being there for a year-and-a-half and being frustrated, I thought it was time for me to move on."

Several Perth Glory youngsters have moved on from the club to successful careers at other A-League teams, including Eli Babalj, Trent Sainsbury and Mark Birighitti, and Makarounas believes it is something Glory should examine.

"I guess that it's just down to the club and the coach picks his players. But there is so many players that have played in the A-League that could have been at Glory, so that's something they might have to look into," he said.

Makarounas also praised the methods used at Victory training.

"It was different from what I've been used to [at Perth Glory] but it's all with the ball and that's what I like," he said.

"We just played lots of games [at Glory] and wasn't the same. Every club is different and they look at training different to what Victory does."

Fellow new signing Stella, who says he can play anywhere through the attack, was pleased to end his experience at Scottish club Rangers and return to his hometown.

"I don't really know [why I didn't get a chance] because on my part I think I deserved a lot more. That's why I chose to leave," he said.

"[Rangers] were opting to use their youth system a lot and considering that they are in such a low league, players that come from overseas like me and few others, maybe didn't get as much of a fair go because of that.

"Melbourne Victory is the biggest team in Australia and it's from my hometown so it's really good, I'm happy."

Victory also presented 17-year-old former AIS captain Galloway - a both-sided full-back who can deputise in defensive midfield - and he described the move as a "dream come true".

"I'm very lucky that [coach Ange Postecoglou] has picked me to come to Melbourne Victory, which has always been a club I have looked up to and always wanted to play for and to get my first pro-contract at the club is unbelievable for me," he said.
