Former Perth Glory targetman Billy Mehmet's move to Thai Premier League club Bangkok Glass has been confirmed.
The 29-year-old Irishman, who played 42 times for Glory - scoring 10 goals - after joining the club in September 2011, has sealed a two-year deal with the capital club ahead of the 2013 campaign.
He was released from his contract with the A-League club on Friday in order to travel to Thailand for talks with the Glass Rabbits, who are coached by Australian Phil Stubbins.
"I'm very glad to join this club," Mehmet told the club's website on Tuesday.
"BGFC is such a huge club with great standard. I'm looking forward to this challenge. It's going to be an exotic experience for me."
Former Adelaide United assistant coach Stubbins was under no doubt as to where Mehmet could be of benefit for his side, which finished eighth last campaign.
"I saw him playing in A-League for years. He's a strong one, good off the ball, great composure, also high creativity.
"His tall figure will helps us a lot. Plus, he's a nice guy. The fans are going to like him."
