Team Of The Week:

Week 11

Adelaide United

The Adelaide goalkeeper showed again why he is considered one of the best in the league with his reassuring presence in goal in the 3-1 win over Wellington. Galekovic made a great save to deny Tyler Boyd in the first-half, and then capped the performance with a penalty save and a block from Boyd's follow-up with the last kick of the match.  He beats out the unlucky Michael Theo, who was immense against former club Victory on Saturday.

Melbourne Victory

Western Sydney

Melbourne Victory

Beauchamp has been picked so often this season that he would have to be captain of a pre-Christmas team of the season.  His stellar form continued in the Sydney A-League derby against his former club, scoring the second goal of the game to put the result beyond doubt.  Bojic was another defender to score on the weekend when he nabbed a brace in the 2-0 win over Melbourne Heart.  The Mariners' attacking play down the right flank was a concern for John Aloisi's men all match and both his goals came from long-range efforts - even if he had a little help from Heart goalkeeper Clint Bolton for the opener.  Traore and Ansell are the other two members of the back four after strong performances for Victory against Brisbane.  Ansell makes the XI at the first time of trying after a solid effort at the back on debut, and Traore showed his sublime skill again with his a beautiful pass to Marco Rojas that almost led to a goal.

Shinji ONO

Perth Glory

After a dominant display in the derby against the Sky Blues, two Wanderers midfielders are make this week's team.  Ono seems to be hitting top form, while Poljak is the perfect defensive foil for his team-mate in midfield.  The two are joined by one of the competition's most versatile players in Milligan, who scored the equaliser for the Victory with a rocket from just outside the box. His defensive nous is complemented by his penchant for crucial goals; Milligan almost grabbed the lead for his side two minutes after his first goal but the left-foot effort was well saved by Theo.  The flat quartet is completed by Glory schemer and team of the week regular Miller, whose performance was highlighted by his sublime cross to Travis Dodd to score.

Travis DODD
Perth Glory

Adelaide United

Going with two up front this week, the pace and attacking mentality of Dodd earned him two goals in the win over Newcastle on Friday and a place in the XI. His first was a poacher's goal and the second, set up by Miller, was a classy finish to get him the brace.  Next to Dodd is Adelaide's in-form Argentine Carrusca, who scored a double and set up a third in the win over Wellington on Sunday.  Dangerous whenever he gets possession in the front third, one of his goals was a dipping free kick to show he is also invaluable from the set piece.
