Adelaide United have issued a short statement condemning any racist behaviour towards Wellington Phoenix attacker Paul Ifill during Sunday's A-League match at Hindmarsh Stadium.
The England-born former Barbados international alleged via Twitter after the match that he had been the subject of racism from a "small minority" of fans during his 61st-minute substitution.
Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert was reluctant to talk about the incident in the post-match press conference, urging journalists to instead talk to hosts Adelaide United.
The Reds have now responded, issuing a statement on Monday pledging to assist with an investigation into the allegations.
"Adelaide United FC does not condone the reported spectator behaviour," it read.
"The club is assisting stadium management and Football Federation Australia with its investigation and will support any sanction imposed on the guilty party.
"Adelaide United FC conveys its concerns to Paul Ifill, as this incident does not reflect views or expectations of Adelaide United FC or any A-League club."
