The Roar were left incensed after Broich's straight red against the Jets on Saturday, and will feel justice has been served after it was rescinded

Brisbane Roar have been given good news ahead of their match against Western Sydney Wanderers after star Thomas Broich had his red card rescinded by the A-League's independent match review Panel on Monday.

The German midfielder received a red card for violent conduct in the 44th minute of Saturday's 1-0 win over the Newcastle Jets at Suncorp Stadium.

Match referee Brenton Hayward, officiating his third A-League game, showed the red card following an altercation between Broich and Jets defender Josh Mitchell.

Broich was bundled over before Mitchell ended up on the floor after a Roar midfielder Eric Paartalu got involved in the small melee.

The 2011-12 Johnny Warren medallist was handed a straight red, while Mitchell was dismissed for two bookable offences.

But as expected, the MRP cited Broich's red card as an 'obvious error' freeing him up for Sunday's trip to Parramatta Stadium, much to the delight of Roar general manager Sean Dobson.

"We're delighted the MRP has rescinded the red card shown to Thomas in Saturday's match," Dobson said.

"Referees have a very difficult job and just like many of us they will, from time to time, make a mistake.

"The MRP is in place to look at these instances and, in our opinion, they have made the right decision in this case.

"We're now looking forward to another important match on Sunday against Western Sydney Wanderers."

Broich has featured in all nine games for the defending champions this season, scoring once.
