THE KEYS

STAR MAN: Paul Ifill ONE TO WATCH:  Stein Huysegems

The Phoenix's highest scorer in the 2011-12 season will again be the man other teams fear when they play Wellington, provided he can keep relatively injury free.

The Belgian journeyman, 30, will be worth watching up front, if only to see how commentators fare when saying his last name. Adds structure to the XI.

THE LOWDOWN

The Phoenix have not had the same amount of high off-season rotation as many of the other A-league clubs, and that stability could serve them well in the 2012-13 season. Fourth last year was an accurate reflection of where the Phoenix are at, with veteran coach Ricki Herbert again looking to guide his side into the top echelons of the table.
