English Premier League club Newcastle United make offer for Melbourne Heart defender Curtis Good - report

The 19-year-old defender is reportedly nearing a switch to the Magpies, who are set to make their interest in the highly rated youngster official

Melbourne Heart defender Curtis Good is reportedly on the verge of a move to English Premier League club Newcastle United.

According to The Mirror, Alan Pardew's Magpies are set to finally act on their interest in the 19-year-old in the form of an offer worth around AU$600,000.

Australia Under-20 international Good trialed at the club for two weeks in April, fresh from his debut A-League season in which he made 25 appearances and established himself as veteran Simon Colosimo's partner in the centre of defence.

The left-sided defender becomes the second promising youngster to depart the Heart during the off-season, with 2011-12 leading scorer Eli Babalj, 20, joining Serbian Superliga club Red Star Belgrade on June 7 for a fee similar to that of which Good is the subject.
