Bite-sized news for you to chew over - A-League draw set to be announced, speculation over McGowan and news on Heart's coaches search

The 2011-12 A-League draw will be unveiled by Football Federation Australia at 10am AEST on Tuesday.  Set once again for an October start, there will be plenty of points of interest for fans.  With a grand final replay between Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar set to be hosted by the former in Week 1, eyes will be also be on the league debut of new club western Sydney.  New Victory coach Ange Postecoglou's first match against reigning champions Brisbane and Melbourne, Sydney and F3 derbies will be among the other highlights.

Australia youth international Ryan McGowan is reportedly the target of clubs in England.  The central defender has been at Scottish Premier League club Hearts since 2006, and made 38 appearances in a breakout 2011-12 campaign.  According to The Scottish Sun, McGowan, 23, is now interesting clubs in England's Championship.  He did his reputation no harm with a goal in Hearts' 5-1 win over city rivals Hibernian in May's Scottish Cup final.

The race to be John Aloisi's assistant coach at Melbourne Heart has lost a candidate, with The Age claiming Perth Glory No.2 Stuart Munro has elected to stay in his current role.  Scot Munro - a former National Soccer League head coach with Carlton and South Melbourne - had reportedly been keen on a return to Melbourne but had withdrawn after Heart failed to make a decision in time.  Heart have to fill both the assistant and youth coach positions, with highly rated duo Kenny Lowe and Joe Mullen reportedly now battling it out for the former.  Ex-Australia international Hayden Foxe is believed to be penciled in for the youth-team role.
