Ivan NECEVSKI
Sydney FC

For the second week in succession, Necevski wins the No.1 position. This time, it was Adelaide United who struggled to find a way past him. Necevski looked in-form from the first whistle and had little trouble maintaining his lofty standards - just ask the likes Sergio van Dijk and Zenon Caravella. |
| DEFENDERS |
Josh RISDON Perth Glory |
Patrick ZWAANSWIJK Central Coast Mariners |
Matt SMITH Brisbane Roar |
||
| Risdon may not be catching the headlines around the A-League - yet - but Glory fans need no reminding of the effect his dynamic displays have had in his club's form revival, and the 19-year-old was his energetic best against the Jets. Mariners veteran Zwaanswijk continues to defy the years in his performances this season, sealing his side's 2-0 win over the Phoenix with what is fast becoming a trademark headed goal. Smith could have been joined in defence by Roar counterpart Mohamed Adnan, but the Brisbane captain just edged the Bahraini after leading from the front against Victory. |

| MIDFIELDERS |
Massimo MURDOCCA Brisbane Roar |
Jacob BURNS Perth Glory |
Tom ROGIC Central Coast Mariners |
Osama MALIK Adelaide United |
||
| One of the A-League's stalwarts, Murdocca notched his 132nd appearance for the Roar in the 2-1 win over Victory on Saturday, and produced the sort of busy performance that has typified his career. Burns returns to the side after another boss-like performance for Perth Glory, in the 2-0 win over the Jets the same day. Rogic is quickly making a name for himself after a second goal in as many games for the Mariners. Malik, meanwhile, was unlucky not to be on a winning side after helping United produce chance after chance in the second half against Sydney FC, only to see a combination of poor finishing and Necevski undo much of his good work. | |||||
| FORWARDS |
Harry KEWELL Melbourne Victory |
Besart BERISHA Brisbane Roar |
John SUTTON Central Coast Mariners |
||||
| Kewell - showing his pace has not deserted him - earns his a second consecutive nod in the side after his well-taken double against the Roar, with reborn team-mate Marco Rojas perhaps unfortunate not to join him after linking well with the former Leeds United flyer. Berisha set up the win at the other end of the pitch, however, celebrating his new contract with his own superb brace. Sutton wins a spot after making his debut start for the Mariners, demonstrating that the doom and gloom forecast for Central Coast's frontline after the sale of Matt Simon might be misplaced. |
