West Bromwich Albion have entered into negotiations with Heracles over want-away defender Jason Davidson, according to a newspaper report in the UK.
Davidson, 23, has been a top target for both Championship club Fulham and Premier League side West Brom, with the fullback considering himself a free agent following the expiry of his previous contract.
However, the Australia international's Eredivisie club claim to have triggered an automatic one-year extension to his deal, forcing interested parties to agree a fee for the promising young defender.
According to the Heracles hierarchy, Davidson failed to present himself for pre-season training back with the club as he sought to force through a move.
It now looks as though West Brom are willing to speak to the Polman Stadion outfit, with the Birmingham Mail reporting that talks over a transfer have begun.
