A report by Fox Sports claims Sydney FC are in the market for Socceroo superstar Tim Cahill to play in the A-League next season.
Just days after Cahill's incredible goal at the World Cup for Australia against the Netherlands, the 34-year-old is apparently being chased by Graham Arnold's Sky Blues.
The report stressed it's still early days but claims there's been contact between Sydney and Cahill, who has a contract with his MLS club New York Red Bulls until 2015.
Cahill would be a huge drawcard to local fans who are already salivating at the prospect of seeing Spanish star David Villa and Damien Duff in the A-League with Melbourne City this coming season.
Cahill, a former Premier League star with Everton, is suspended for the Socceroos' final group game against Spain but is the talk of the football world after his amazing goal in Porto Alegre.
