thumbnail Hello,

The injured fullback could be on the move according to one press outlet in Croatia, who claim he is being targeted by a top flight powerhouse

Injured Socceroo fullback Ivan Franjic has been linked with a move away from A-League champions Brisbane Roar just days after being ruled out of the World Cup.

Franjic, 26, started for Australia in Brazil and impressed in the Group B clash against Chile in Cuiaba, supplying the assist for Tim Cahill's goal in a respectable 3-1 loss.

However, the right-back tore his hamstring early in the second half at the Arena Pantanal and has been forced home early from the tournament.

His brief moment in the spotlight - he also played in the Socceroos' final warm-up friendly against Croatia - appears to have sparked the rumour mill into action in the country of his parents' birth.

A story on the website of daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija has claimed Franjic is the subject of interest from Prva HNL heavyweights Hajduk Split.

The report suggested the club are seeking to sell right-back Avdija Vrsajevic and replace him with the 2013-14 A-League title winner, although they are apparently unwilling or unable to pay a transfer fee and will rely on Franjic to escape his contract early if a move is to happen.

The story also claimed the versatile Socceroo spent a period of time on trial at Hajduk Split in 2012. Franjic and his club are yet to comment on the claims.
