Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has launched a stinging criticism of Inter owner Erick Thohir for pulling the plug on the swap deal involving Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic in January.
Guarin was set to go to the Scudetto holders with Juve striker Vucinic going the other way, but the San Siro side chose not to go ahead with the deal due to fan protestations despite the clubs having reached an agreement.
Chiellini, who scored the second goal in the Bianconeri's 3-1 win at home to the Nerazzurri on Sunday, wished Inter's Colombian attacker all the best and hit out at Thohir for the way he handled the scrapped transfer.
"I wish the best to Inter and especially Guarin," the Italy international, 29, told Sportmediaset.
"Guarin, along with Vucinic, was the victim in a surreal situation where he [Thohir] toyed a bit too much with the lives of two men."
Roma's suspended match with Parma on Sunday meant that Antonio Conte's men extended their lead at the top of Serie A to nine points with their victory over Walter Mazzarri's side.
